Cloud Architect – National Security Programme

eDV Cleared

Ncounter is supporting a specialist technology consultancy delivering into highly sensitive National Security programmes, now seeking experienced eDV Cleared Cloud Architects to join a major greenfield platform build.

This is a rare opportunity to shape the architecture of a secure, cloud-native product operating within a high-side environment, where data security, encryption, and system resilience are critical.

The Opportunity

You will take ownership of architectural design across a complex, distributed platform that processes secure, encrypted data within controlled environments.

This programme is at an early stage, giving you genuine influence over how systems are structured, integrated, and scaled.

You will work closely with engineering teams to define patterns, guide implementation, and ensure robust, secure, and scalable solutions across both high-side and low-side environments.

Key Responsibilities

* Define and own end-to-end architecture across cloud-based systems

* Design secure, scalable solutions operating within National Security constraints

* Lead architectural decisions across distributed systems and data workflows

* Work closely with engineers to ensure clean implementation of architectural patterns

* Contribute to greenfield system design, including platform structure and integration

* Ensure systems are built with security, resilience, and observability at their core

What We’re Looking For

* Active eDV (Enhanced Developed Vetting / Green Badge) – essential

* Strong experience as a Cloud or Solution Architect within complex environments

* Proven background in AWS cloud architecture (Azure beneficial)

* Strong understanding of DevOps tooling and modern engineering practices

* Software engineering background with Java or Python

* Experience designing systems involving secure data handling or encryption workflows

* Ability to operate in highly controlled, secure environments

This is a greenfield opportunity within a high-impact National Security programme, offering genuine ownership and influence over system design. You will work on secure, encrypted platforms at the forefront of cloud engineering, with the backing of a programme that has immediate hiring demand and strong long-term growth. If you hold active eDV clearance and want to shape secure, cloud-native systems, we would welcome a conversation
