Manthorpe Building Products is a leading designer, manufacturer and supplier of plastic injection moulded, vacuum formed and extruded products for the building industry.

The purpose of the role is to assist the team in their activities and provide guidance with the day-to-day tasks. Whilst continuing to learn skills associated with the people management and production, whilst being fully compliant to all corporate and legislative standards and guidelines.

Workings hours:

6:30am until 5:00pm Mon - Thurs

7:30am until 4:00pm Fridays

Rate of pay: £15.81

Key Responsibilities:

  • To supervise staff in accordance with company policies and procedures.

  • Providing day-to-day direction to the team, and control of the production activities.

  • Communicate with other members of the management team with production issues.

  • Monitor the quality of products and ensure that standards are maintained.

  • Role model behaviour to other members of staff.

  • Co-ordinate department activities and projects to ensure high standards are maintained, and deadlines are met on time.

  • Conduct employee reviews, investigations, training, development, mentoring, appraisals, and hiring of new staff as required.

  • Contribute and sustain 5S activities within the workplace.

  • Evaluate department processes and recommend changes based on process analysis.

  • Work in conjunction with other departments to ensure health and safety compliance.

  • Being competent in carrying out manual handling tasks within the workplace.

  • Ensure production outputs are achieved on time and in full.

  • To maintain a safe working environment.

  • Ensure all waste products are separated into their designated containers for safe disposal.

  • To have excellent time keeping skills and be able to meet production requirements.

  • Comply with company and statutory Quality, Health and Safety, Environmental and other policies, and procedures.

  • Assist in identifying areas of improvement within your area, promoting continuous improvement activities, to help eliminate waste and improve safety, engagement & efficiency.

    Skills & Requirements:

  • A positive work ethic and enthusiastic approach to activities undertaken.

  • Willing to learn new skills.

  • Works well as part of the team, and on their own initiative to achieve company goals.

  • Good communication and people skills.

  • Understanding of health and safety and staff management.

  • Able to conduct quality checks for visual and dimensional accuracy.

  • Fire marshal and first aid trained.

  • Strong commitment to continuous improvement and sustainability practices.
