On behalf of our client, we are seeking to recruit someone as a Software Engineer for 12 months. As a Software Engineer, you will join a team implementing a demonstration system for a complex new Command and Control capability, this extends existing concepts and logic. If the demonstration is successful, it may develop into a development project for a fully operational capability.

Role: Software Engineer
Pay £65per hour via Umbrella
Contract: Monday- Friday, 37 Hours per week,12-month contract
Location: Bristol
IR35 Status: Inside
Security Clearance: SC to start

Responsibilities

Developing and testing complex C++ business logic.
Collaboration with internal algorithm teams to create code to execute algorithms, implement complex transformation logic and verification implementation. We expect several iterations using a CI/CD approach.
Implementation of interfaces to internal and external systems.
Extension of existing software to create components that will run in in a virtual environment and supporting the deployment of software.
Essential Requirements/Skills/Experience

Strong experience in C++ application development.
A strong background in software engineering, its realisation and system wide impact.
Experience in CI/CD pipelines, GitLab, Docker.
Experience of developing software for virtual environments.
Knowledge of safety and security related development and associated standards is advantageous.
Knowledge of Data Distribution Service (DDS) is advantageous.
