Software Development: Technical Project Manager

Blueberry Consultants Ltd is a highly technical software development company based in Birmingham, UK. We are looking for experienced candidates to join our management team in Birmingham in the role of Technical Project Manager.

We build bespoke software systems for a wide range of customers. While our core work involves developing web-based software applications, we are also active in mobile app development and software product innovation.

We seek candidates with a strong personal and professional interest in software development and IT. You should have a proven track record of managing technical projects independently, with excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.

Position Requirements

• Proven experience managing software development projects and delivering them on time and within budget.
• A background in software development, systems administration, or a similar technical role.
• Strong analytical abilities with a foundation in science, mathematics, or engineering. A degree in a relevant subject is desirable but not essential.
• Demonstrated ability to acquire, analyse, and act on new technical information rapidly.
• Excellent written and spoken English, with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Confidence in liaising directly with stakeholders, customers, and internal teams.

The Technical Project Manager is expected to:

• Lead project teams through the full software development lifecycle, from initial scoping to delivery and support.
• Take ownership of multiple concurrent projects, ensuring they meet scope, time, quality, and budget requirements.
• Collaborate with customers and stakeholders to define, document, and validate requirements.
• Coordinate closely with developers, QA, and DevOps engineers to manage the implementation and delivery of features.
• Conduct regular project reviews, manage risk, and implement effective solutions when issues arise.
• Oversee the provisioning of IT infrastructure necessary to support software projects.
• Leverage tools such as AI assistants, search engines, and internal systems to support research and decision-making.
• Continuously develop technical and project management skills to remain effective in the role

Working Hours

This is a full-time position. Work patterns are based around standard working weeks: Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm UK.
