Senior Tester| Full Time - Hybrid working with regular attendance at the Brighton Head Office | 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, worked flexibly in line with company, customer and project needs  | £45,000 - £55,000 per annum

Our client is a UK technology company with team members based across the country. They solve through-life acquisition and support management issues for the Defence and related sectors, supporting their teams to work strategically, collaboratively and effectively to maintain and streamline the delivery of military and industrial capability.

They are currently looking for a highly experienced Senior Tester to join their team.

The Senior Tester will be responsible for ensuring that the software developed by our client is of high quality and fit for purpose. This will involve writing, maintaining, and executing manual test cases aligned with the test strategy. The role includes exploratory testing and validating critical path scenarios to support product readiness for general release.

This is a hands-on role requiring collaboration with Analysts, Developers, Product Owners, and Delivery teams. The Senior Tester will help coordinate the overall test strategy, identify opportunities for automation, and provide artefacts suitable for customer scrutiny. The successful candidate will be expected to operate with minimal supervision and contribute to the continuous improvement of test practices within an Agile environment.

Are you the right person for the job?

Significant commercial experience in manual software testing
ISEB/ISTQB certified (or equivalent relevant qualification)
Proven experience designing and maintaining effective manual test cases (not reliant on record-and-playback)
Strong exploratory testing capabilities
Experience with Azure DevOps for test management and work tracking
Able to work autonomously and proactively manage workload
Must hold or be able to achieve security clearance to SC level
What will your role look like?

Plan, write, and execute manual test suites and cases based on defined user stories and requirements
Ensure full test coverage of critical path scenarios and functional workflows
Capture test evidence and communicate results and observations clearly to the wider team
Participate in capability reviews and retrospectives, providing feedback and capturing lessons learned
Coordinate testing activities across releases and liaise with the automation team to optimise coverage
Work to defined timescales and budgets while maintaining quality and attention to detail
