Your new company

Join a global financial powerhouse at the forefront of innovation in Identity and Access Management (IAM). This is a rare opportunity to be part of a greenfield build within the Corporate & Investment Bank (CIB) division, developing a next-generation IAM platform that underpins secure access to critical services across payments and securities.
Over the past two years, this platform has been built from the ground up to protect external APIs and deliver seamless, secure login and multifactor authentication experiences. With significant investment and a growing global footprint across the US, India, and the UK, the team is scaling rapidly - and Glasgow is a key engineering hub.

Your new role

As a Senior Software Engineer, you'll join a high-calibre team of technologists working on a Kubernetes-based microservices architecture hosted in AWS. You'll be hands-on across the full SDLC - from high-level design and architecture through to production deployment and support.
You'll work closely with experienced engineers and domain experts to deliver mission-critical services with a strong focus on scalability, observability (DataDog), and quality. You'll also contribute to architectural design, sequence diagrams, and flow mapping, ensuring robust documentation and testing standards are met.
This is a full Agile environment, and you'll be expected to bring not just technical expertise, but also a collaborative mindset and a passion for continuous improvement.

What you'll need to succeed

Strong backend engineering skills in Java (Go and Python a plus)
Cloud-native development experience, ideally in AWS (Terraform, Aurora DB, Lambdas)
Microservices architecture and container orchestration with Kubernetes
Full SDLC ownership - from design to deployment and production support
Authentication and IAM knowledge - OAuth2, OpenID Connect, SAML, etc.
Experience in financial services or regulated environments is highly desirable.
Ability to produce high-level designs, sequence diagrams, and technical documentation
Strong Agile delivery mindset and experience working in cross-functional teams
Excellent communication skills and the ability to mentor junior engineers

What you'll get in return

As a contractor, you'll join a high-performing team tackling a greenfield IAM platform using cutting-edge tech like AWS, Kubernetes, and Java. You'll gain exposure to mission-critical systems, work alongside top-tier engineers, and enjoy a competitive day rate-all from a modern Glasgow office, five days a week.
