Role: Senior Java Developer

Duration: 12 Months

Location: Welwyn Garden City (2 to 3 days in office)

Rate: £700 inside umbrella

As a Senior Java Developer, you will be a vital contributor to our projects, providing technical leadership and driving key features from conception to delivery. Here's what you can expect:

Develop High-Quality Software: Utilize your Java expertise (Spring Boot or other frameworks) to create efficient and scalable solutions.
Embrace Cloud Technologies: Work with Microsoft Azure and Terraform, with an eagerness to learn new tools and technologies.
Implement CI/CD Best Practices: Advocate for seamless software delivery through continuous integration and deployment.
Create and Maintain Documentation: Support development processes and system design with clear, comprehensive documentation.
Make Data-Driven Decisions: Balance short-term and long-term goals, making informed trade-offs to deliver impactful results.
Uphold Architectural Standards: Apply security-first thinking and utilize tools like Snyk and Apiiro for robust, secure coding practices.
Take Ownership: Drive reliability, maintainability, and performance in the systems you work on.
Mentor and Collaborate: Foster a culture of growth by mentoring fellow engineers and encouraging teamwork.
Automate Workflows: Build tools and scripts to enhance efficiency and streamline processes.

What We're Looking For:

To succeed in this role, you should have:

Solid experience in delivering Java or other JVM languages; familiarity with JavaScript/TypeScript.
Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) and infrastructure automation (Terraform).
A good understanding of SQL (PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., Cosmos DB).
Familiarity with monitoring and alerting tools (e.g., Splunk, New Relic).
Experience working with Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban).
Strong English communication skills.
Proven experience in system design and project ownership.
A proactive attitude and a passion for driving technical excellence.
