Senior Data Engineer
Location: Manchester (Hybrid - 2 days per week on-site)
Salary: £60,000 - £65,000 per annum
Employment Type: Permanent
Eligibility: Must be UK-based - no sponsorship available

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer to join our growing data team in Manchester. This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of data engineering projects, influence best practices, and shape the evolution of our data technology stack in a fast-paced, forward-thinking environment.

What You'll Be Doing

Designing, building, and maintaining scalable data solutions using Databricks, Data Factory, Azure SQL, and Azure SQL DW.

Managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment while evolving our data engineering tools, processes, and standards.

Working with both structured and unstructured data to meet diverse business needs.

Implementing Kimball methodology and Star Schema design for dimensional modelling.

Supporting and enhancing Enterprise Data Warehouse solutions.

Leveraging knowledge of emerging technologies to solve modern business challenges.

Championing cloud technology best practices including CI/CD, cost optimisation, and scaling strategies.

Collaborating across teams to raise coding and technology standards.

Skills & Experience You'll Need

5+ years' experience in a Data Engineering function.

Strong background with Databricks, Data Factory, Azure SQL, Azure SQL DW.

Hands-on experience with Enterprise Data Warehouses and dimensional modelling.

Familiarity with structured and unstructured data handling.

Google Analytics data experience (preferred).

Experience in a retail environment (preferred).

Deep understanding of cloud technologies and DevOps practices.

A track record of improving coding and technical standards in a team setting.
