Senior Automation Test Engineer - Agile Consultancy

Location: Flexible UK-based (Remote or Office-based)
Client Site Visits: Weekly travel to London required
Clearance: Preference for candidates with existing high-level UK security clearance (You need to be a British Citizen who has lived here the last 5 years).

Salary: Up to £70,000 + Bens

About the Role:

A dynamic technical consultancy is seeking a Senior Automation Test Engineer to join a fast-paced agile delivery team working on live projects within the Central Government sector. This is a hands-on role focused on implementing continuous automated testing within a CI/CD lifecycle.

You'll be part of a collaborative environment that values innovation, flexibility, and continuous learning. The team thrives on solving complex operational challenges with bespoke technical solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and implement automated test frameworks across UI & API
Perform manual and automated testing using open-source tools (e.g., Selenium, Java)
Apply agile methodologies including TDD, BDD, ATDD
Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and support exploratory testing
Engage in non-functional testing (Security, Performance, Accessibility, OAT)
Collaborate with QA teams to improve frameworks and processesIdeal Candidate:

Strong experience in both manual and automation testing
Proficient in Selenium and Java
Comfortable working in agile environments and driving best practices
Passionate about continuous improvement and emerging technologies
Eligible for UK security clearance (British passport holder, UK resident for past 5 years)Culture & Benefits:
