Job Title: SDET Automation / QA Automation Engineer
Contract: 6 Months (possibility for extension)
Location: London (Hybrid - 2 days a week)
Daily Rate: Circa £690/Day

Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced QA Test Automation Engineer to enhance our team. The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in quality assurance methodologies, automation frameworks, and a solid understanding of financial systems. This role provides an exciting opportunity to influence the development and maintenance of critical software solutions in finance.

Meet the Team
Join our dynamic Technology Quality Assurance team within the IT & Security Planning Department. We support the Capital Markets and Corporate Banking sectors by ensuring excellence in the software development life cycle (SDLC). Our aim is to question processes, uphold standards, and deliver high-quality software products.

Required Knowledge & Experience

Experience in software quality assurance and test automation, specifically in finance applications.
Proficiency in at least two of the following programming languages: Java, Python, or C#.
Strong understanding of software testing principles and hands-on experience with automation frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Cucumber, TestNG).
Experience in CI/CD integration and database technologies (SQL, NoSQL).
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.Roles and Responsibilities

Technical: Develop and maintain a high-quality test automation framework, execute automated test suites, identify defects, and improve testing processes.
Business Analysis: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define test scenarios and ensure comprehensive test coverage.
Collaboration and Management: Maintain rapport with stakeholders, provide technical guidance, and uphold integrity and ethics.
Pick up existing automation framework
Understand current Selenium + Cucumber setup
Run, debug, and maintain existing automated test
Automation delivery
Engage with stakeholders (QA, dev, business)
Understand requirements and test scenarios
Create new automated tests for product changes
Demo automation to stakeholders
Maintenance & enhancement
Fix broken tests
Refactor automation when required
Extend framework when new challenges arise
Collaboration
Work closely with distributed teams
Communicate progress clearly
Own automation delivery end-to-end (not siloed)Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
Professional certifications in software testing (e.g., ISTQB) and finance (e.g., CFA, FRM) are a plus. ISTQB Advanced Level Test Automation Engineer preferred.Why Join Our Team?
