Job Title: Platform Orchestration Team Lead
Location: Corsham 2-3 days per week
Duration: Until 31st March with likely extension
Rate: Up to £800 per day via an approved umbrella company

Are you passionate about automation, orchestration, and delivering secure, high-quality solutions? Our client, a leading organisation supporting defence capabilities, is hiring for a reputable client to lead their Platform Automation Orchestration team. This senior role involves developing and maintaining automation components for the platform, primarily based on VMWare, Windows, and Linux technologies, supporting critical armed forces applications.

What you'll be doing:

  • Lead the design, development, and review of production-grade automation code using PowerShell, Python, Ansible, Terraform, and Jenkins.
  • Create and support automation modules for Windows Server features, VMware, and other infrastructure components.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
  • Develop detailed design artefacts and support system testing activities.
  • Work with Service Management to ensure smooth operation and issue resolution.

    What you'll bring:
  • Proven experience in creating complex PowerShell automation modules, including workflows and Desired State Configuration.
  • Strong background in designing and supporting automation solutions across Windows, VMware, and cloud environments.
  • Hands-on experience with deployment tools like VMware PowerCLI, VEEAM, and Solarwinds.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and version control tools such as GIT and BitBucket.
  • Excellent communication skills and critical thinking abilities.
  • Valid Security Clearance (SC).

    Desirable:
  • Knowledge of Atlassian tools (JIRA, Confluence).
  • Certifications such as VMware VCP, MCSA/MCSE, or Oracle OCA.
  • Experience working within the UK Public Sector or Defence environments.
