Performance & Automation Test Engineer | Java | Tech for Good | Edinburgh (Hybrid)

Up to £70,000 + Bonus + 15% Pension + 35hr Week + Private Healthcare

A tech for good organisation based in Edinburgh is looking for an experienced Performance & Automation Test Engineer to join their growing hybrid team. 🛠️ Tech Stack You'll Work With

Core: Java (essential), JavaScript or TypeScript (bonus)
Performance Testing: Custom frameworks, traffic analysis, monitoring tools
Testing Tools: Playwright, Cypress or similar (performance testing more important for this role)
Infrastructure: APIs, databases, CICD pipelines
Cloud and DevOps: AWS, Kubernetes (desirable), Git

✅ What They're Looking For

Strong experience as an Performance Tester or Automation Engineer, with a solid grasp of Java
Proven track record in building and maintaining performance and automation test frameworks
Experience with backend testing, APIs, CICD, and data driven testing
A collaborative mindset: someone who enjoys mentoring, problem solving and working closely with devs and stakeholders

🌟 Nice to Have

Familiarity with observability tools, logging, and analysing system behaviour in production
Experience with cloud environments (AWS preferred) and containerised apps (Docker or Kubernetes)
Exposure to JavaScriptTypeScript and frontend automation tools

🏢 Working Model

Based on the outskirts of Edinburgh (close to tram, train, and with free parking)
Hybrid: 3 days onsite for collaboration, 2 days remote
