Full Stack Engineer - contract
Daily Rate: £800 - £870 (inside IR35 via umbrella)

Key Responsibilities:

Implement front-end features for a React application that visualises and interacts with scientific data and workflow progression.
Integrate AI/ML components with the frontend, backend, data, and compute infrastructure.
Ensure high-quality software implementations according to best practises, including automated test suites and comprehensive documentation.
Develop, measure, and monitor key metrics for all tools and services, consistently seeking to iterate and improve.
Participate in code reviews to elevate personal standards and contribute to the team's overall product quality.
Collaborate with other technical staff and data engineers to build an end-to-end pipeline that leverages various data products.

Basic Qualifications:

5+ years of experience in frontend software development (React).
Proven experience in Python development (FastAPI preferred).
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (computational, numerate, or life sciences) or equivalent experience.
Essential cloud experience (Google Cloud and Cloud Run preferred) for core web application infrastructure.
Strong skills in JavaScript/TypeScript and Python, adhering to best practises for clean and scalable code.
Ability to work directly with designers using Figma to transform design prototypes into engaging applications.
Experience with automated testing tools (e.g., Playwright, Cypress) for maintaining and executing test suites.
Solid understanding of web development best practises, modern design principles, and continuous integration workflows.
Familiarity with agile practises and experience in agile software development environments.
Proficient in modern software development tools (e.g., Git/GitHub, DevOps tools) with a commitment to early commits and frequent deployments.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with Docker or containerized applications, particularly multi-container architecture.
Experience with biological or scientific data (e.g., genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics) or pharmaceutical industry experience, especially in designing data visualisations.
Knowledge of agent-based approaches (e.g., LangGraph, PydanticAI, AutoGen).
