Machine Technician – Shift Basis – 4 on 4 off (Days / Nights)
Starting Salary £32,000 + Benefits, Regular Salary Review and Career Progression Support

We currently have opportunities within our Machine Technician team at our Milton Keynes location (MK10 Kingston) due to expansion and growth
Purpose of job/mission:
To ensure that the moulding machines run to the specification established by the Technician Department and that the containers are produced to the customers agreed specification – also a focus on minimizing downtime and scrap levels.
Tasks & responsibilities:

  • To ensure that moulding machines and ancillary equipment adhere to process settings, without deviation. To report any defects to supervision and carry out process adjustments as instructed by supervision which is within the technician's level of competence.
  • To ensure that the product arriving at the packing station meets the acceptable quality, standard & specification required. This involves regular checks of the quality of production, both for visual faults and weight, and recording results in the quality system correctly.
  • To stop & start machines and make adjustments/change parts when necessary to maintain the quality of the production to specification within the technician’s level of competence.
  • To ensure a constant supply of raw material, that is correct to specification, to the blender unit and machine. To perform product colour changes to specification and to report to supervision any issues.
  • To ensure that the moulding machines, ancillary equipment, and the immediate work area are always maintained to a high standard of housekeeping and cleanliness (5S)
    Skills/Experience:
  • Experience of working within a fast-paced manufacturing/production environment (Plastics exposure would be distinct advantage)
  • Previous experience of monitoring machines and equipment (Visual checks and raising issues) – training provided on specific ALPLA machinery.
  • Mechanical aptitude advantageous.
