An opportunity has arisen for an experienced IT Solution Architect to work on a major programme within the Ministry of Defence and be responsible for designing and delivering complex end to end solutions.

The Role

Reporting into the Head of Architecture, the IT Solution Architect will be tasked with leading the solution development throughout the delivery lifecycle from capture and design to release and sustainment.

You will be responsible for ensuring that functional and non-functional requirements are met within the programme and will provide support on a range of key decisions including platform selection, project estimates, framework and regulatory compliance as well as solution evaluation.

The Requirements

Experience within Supply Chain or Logistics would be sought within complex organisations and programmes. The role requires an excellent communicator who is able to work closely with a range of key stakeholders. Experience in central government or defence would be beneficial.

The key requirements for the role holder are proven experience with:

  • High Level Designs (HLDs)

  • Technical Architecture

  • Cloud migrations and cloud native architecture (AWS or similar)

  • Writing technical requirements

  • Design Transformation & Integration

    Highly beneficial would be TOGAF/MODAF, use of Archimate and prior experience in logistics and supply chain management solutions.

    Security Clearance

    SC Clearance will be required but you can commence work on a BPSS while this process is underway.

    Home Working

    This role can be performed largely from home (in the UK) with occasional travel to Bristol.

    Package

    A base salary of up to £80,000 will come with package benefits including private healthcare and a pension matched up to 8%.
