A family run manufacturing company on the outskirts of Colchester, Essex are currently recruiting for a fitter to join their expanding team.

This is a temporary to permanent position, looking to pay between £13 - £15.50 per hour.

Overview:
As a fitter, you will be involved in transforming shipping containers, trailers & old vans into fully functioning mobile units.

Key Responsibilities:

As a fitter you will be required to install interior fixtures such as counters, doors, windows, interior panels plus much more
Read from technical drawings
Using hand & power tools daily, such as drills, saws, grinders plus much more
Helping with basic plumbing & electrics
You will work closely with staff internally to fit out bespoke interiors to a high standard
Help with problem solving in the workshop
Follow company health & safety policies as and when required
Candidate requirements:

Background in fitting & fabrication (a joiner, cabinet maker or vehicle fitter
The ideal applicant will be confident in installing mechanical, plumbing and electrical systems
Ability to read from technical drawings
Strong problem solving skills
Excellent team player and communication skills
Due to the location of the site, the person will have their own transport
Beneficial - Training or qualification in bench fitting, joinery, metal fabrication or related trades
Working Hours:

07:30-16:30 Monday - Thursday and a 13:30 finish on Fridays!
