Overview
An exciting opportunity has opened up with a global leader in data and analytics, looking for a Senior System Engineer to join a newly formed Enterprise GitHub Operations & Tooling team. This is a pivotal role where you'll help shape the future of GitHub Enterprise automation and infrastructure across the organization.

Key Information

Role: Senior System Engineer - GitHub Enterprise Tooling & Operations
Location: Fully remote - Office based in London.
Rate: Competitive - Inside IR35 - £525-£550 per day.
Contract Length: 12 months
Start Date: ASAP (unfortunately we are unable to consider candidates with a notice period longer than 2 weeks)
Working Arrangements: Fully remote with the option to go on site if you wish.Role Summary

You'll be responsible for designing, building, and managing core services and tooling for GitHub Enterprise. This includes automating repository lifecycle management, enforcing organizational policies, and integrating GitHub with enterprise systems. The role is ideal for engineers with a strong background in infrastructure and a passion for automation and emerging technologies like Generative AI.

Skills & Experience Needed
Mandatory:

Strong coding skills in Go, Python, or Java
Deep experience with GitHub APIs, GitHub Actions, and GitHub Apps
Background in Operations, SRE, or Infrastructure Engineering
Familiarity with IaC tools like Terraform
Solid understanding of modern SDLC practices and secure coding
Highly Advantageous:

Experience with Generative AI tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot)
Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms like AWS or Azure
Security best practices in a DevOps/cloud context
