Contract Design Engineer - Creo IR35 Status: In

Hourly - Circa £45 DOE

Contract Term - 4 months ext. 2 months potentially

Location - In office or Hybrid in Dumbarton

With a strong focus on innovation, sustainability, and rapid deployment, they play a vital role in helping clients maintain operations under challenging and fast-changing conditions

We are seeking an experienced Contract Design Engineer with strong Creo skills to support increased project workload within a fast-paced engineering team. This role focuses on the development of detailed 3D models and 2D drawings for heavy welded fabrications, sheet metal, and pipework assemblies, contributing to major new product development projects in the industrial power generation sector.

Responsibilities, but are not limited to

Develop detailed 3D models and assemblies of heavy welded fabrications, pipework systems, and sheet metal components using Creo.
Produce comprehensive 2D engineering drawings, ensuring designs are optimised for manufacturability (DFM) and comply with relevant standards.
Implement and manage engineering changes through formal change control processes, ensuring accurate documentation and traceability.
Work closely with cross-functional teams, including production, procurement, and suppliers, to ensure designs are practical, cost-effective, and aligned with project timelines.
Contribute to the development of two key new product development projects related to industrial generator enclosures housed within 40ft containers.
Oversee and mentor CAD and junior engineering team members, fostering a collaborative environment and maintaining high drawing standards.
Engage with external suppliers and fabricators to ensure component compatibility and resolve technical queries.
Ensure all designs and documentation comply with industry standards, health & safety regulations, and company policies.Experiences required

Proficient in creating 3D models of assemblies and sub-assemblies using Creo 6/8
Competent in creating detailed technical drawing packs for manufacture DFM
Strong design knowledge of heavy fabricated welded sheet metal and pipework
Knowledge of PDM systems i.e. Enovia and Vault or similarPackage

40 Hours P/W | Monday to Friday | Flexible Hours | Early Friday Finish
