This is a fantastic opportunity to become a vital member of the Group technology team responsible for the global intelligent integration platform. You will be joining our business at a key moment in our evolution and will be making a key and lasting impact on our technology organisation and landscape.

Reporting to the Group Director of Data and Architecture, you will have responsibility for the integration workloads delivered against our Azure ecosystem. You will be a key contributor to designing, developing, and managing robust integration solutions, with a primary focus on event-based pub/sub architectures.

The role involves building the connective tissue of our global applications, adopting a "platform-as-a-product" mindset, and implementing key governance steps such as observability, exception handling, and highly automated CI/CD pipelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and Implementation: Design, implement, and maintain scalable and efficient integration pipelines for the seamless flow of data across global enterprise applications using the Azure Integration Services stack.

  • Event-Driven Architecture: Take end-to-end ownership of event-based pub/sub integration solutions, utilizing Azure Service Bus, Azure Functions, and Event Grid to ensure high-performance, asynchronous communication.

  • Pipeline Management: Utilize modern integration patterns to ensure clean, reliable, and decoupled data flows across the ecosystem.

  • Software Excellence: Ensure strict version control and reproducibility of all integration logic using Azure DevOps and established .NET best practices.

  • Development: Develop and maintain high-quality .NET-based services and handlers to transform and route data between disparate systems.

  • Governance & Security: Work within our technology governance framework to implement best practices that ensure data quality, security, and compliance during transit.

  • Operational Excellence: Use best-practice implementations for observability, alerting, and monitoring to evolve an effective, "always-on" integration operations function.

  • CI/CD Leadership: Optimize and troubleshoot deployment pipelines, ensuring solid CI/CD processes are followed to maintain high reliability and rapid delivery cycles.

    Required Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.

  • Core Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in .NET development and at least 3 years of experience in integration engineering with a focus on cloud technologies.

  • Azure Expertise: Proven experience with the Azure Integration Platform, specifically: Azure Service Bus, Azure Functions, Event Grid, and Azure API Management.

  • DevOps Proficiency: Strong familiarity with Azure DevOps and solid experience implementing and managing CI/CD processes.

  • Technical Standards: Extensive experience in developing and managing integration pipelines, with a deep understanding of pub/sub and event-driven patterns.

  • Best Practices: Strong proficiency in data governance, security, and the operational monitoring of distributed cloud systems.

  • Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with strong communication and collaboration skills
