Azure SQL DBA Paying up to £65,000 per annum Permanent Hybrid working up to 3 days per week on site.

My client is based in the Horsham area and they are looking for a SQL DBA to carry out the following:

💼 Role Overview

The position involves leading the development and optimisation of IT database systems across cloud (Azure) and on-premises platforms to support enterprise-wide operations. You’ll ensure high performance, security, compliance, and availability of SQL Server databases through proactive management and automation.

🚀 Key Responsibilities

  • Design, manage, and optimise SQL Server databases (on-prem + cloud)

  • Oversee replication, backup, failover, and recovery across Azure regions

  • Automate data pipelines via Azure Data Factory & Logic Apps

  • Collaborate with engineering, security, and architecture teams

  • Independently lead projects and maintain technical documentation

  • Review and enhance SQL performance through code optimisation

    ✅ Ideal Candidate

  • Extensive experience with SQL Server 2019+ and Azure SQL

  • Skilled in performance tuning, troubleshooting, and T-SQL development

  • Proficiency in PowerShell, Azure CLI, and DevOps automation (CI/CD)

  • Deep understanding of data security, encryption, and auditing
