AWS DevOps Engineer - ContractStart: ASAP
Duration: 3 months
Day Rate: c. £500 per day in scope of IR35
Location: Hybrid - 3 days per week in Sheffield, remainder remote

We're looking for an experienced AWS DevOps Engineer to join a dynamic team on a short-term contract, starting as soon as possible. You'll be instrumental in supporting and enhancing cloud infrastructure, deploying scalable services, and improving CI/CD pipelines within an AWS environment.

Key Skills & Experience Required:

Proven background as an AWS DevOps Engineer in commercial environments

Strong expertise in AWS core services including EC2, ECS, EKS, S3, IAM, Lambda, CloudFormation, CloudWatch, RDS, Route 53, and VPCs

Solid experience with Kubernetes and containerisation using Docker and Amazon EKS

Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform and/or CloudFormation

CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or CodePipeline

Monitoring and logging with tools like CloudWatch, ELK Stack, Prometheus, Grafana, or similar

Scripting in Python, Bash, or similar

Good understanding of networking, security groups, load balancers, and general cloud security best practices

Typical Tasks:

As a key member of the team, you will:

Design, build, and manage scalable, secure, and highly available AWS infrastructure

Create and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or CloudFormation

Manage Kubernetes clusters and deploy containerised applications

Set up and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate build, test, and deployment workflows

Monitor systems, troubleshoot issues, and optimise performance

Implement and maintain security and compliance controls across AWS environments

Collaborate with software developers and architects to support continuous delivery and operational excellence
