Nelson Permanent Placements are currently recruiting on behalf of an International Distribution business that specialise within the electrical market. Our client is looking for a Warehouse Team Leader who will be working alongside the Warehouse Manager to Lead and run the Morning Shift team.
The role of the Warehouse Team Leader is to focusing on providing support to the operations of the warehouse and drive improvements. You will be responsible for leading a team of 10-15 Operatives and have a warehouse manager to support you day to day. The Operation team has 45 years experience within it at this company therefore you will be well supported by colleagues.
The Distribution Centre & Head Office you will be working from is a 100,000sqf state of the art facility.

Our client is the market leader in their sector and are looking for the best talent in the market to join their business.
Our client has a WMS in place however they are investing heavily in implementing a new system this year therefore someone who has strong experience int his would be preferred.

  • A strong warehouse background, in ideally a similar role
  • able to commute to Tamworth

  • £28-£34K
    Working Hours
    05:00am - 14:00pm (Monday-Friday)
    Main Duties:
  • Manage and motivate a team of 10 – 12 staff
  • Organize and manage staff absence and head count gaps
  • Assist with the effective management and implementation of the WMS
  • Organize and plan the workload for the warehouse team, working to strict deadlines and prioritizing specific duties depending on business demand.
  • Uphold and actively promote following company policies and procedures.
  • Work with a high level of integrity and maintain high standards of work.
  • Ability to liaise with colleagues at a senior level.
  • Be involved in the discussion and decision making around new ideas and processes and roles and responsibilities of team members.
  • Pick and check orders, pack orders
  • Process customer collections at the customer collections desk.
  • Process parcels/orders using the relevant courier’s software.
  • Safely operate a fork lift truck to unload containers and move stock.
  • Stock condensing and stock rotation.
  • Maintain a good level of housekeeping within the warehouse.
  • Responsible for addressing customer miss-picks and shortage discrepancies.
  • Identify and allocate master bin locations for new stock lines.
  • Print and sort new labels for work orders.
  • Carry out and record fork lift truck & MHE checks.
    Skills and Experience:
  • Good knowledge of Re-Work (Acel, Whitbread, Engraving).
  • Good knowledge of Export and its functionalities.
  • FLT licence holder
  • Computer literate with an understanding of IT
  • A good working knowledge of health and safety in the workplace
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Leadership skills, with the ability to organise and delegate work and motivate the team.
