Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Test Automation Engineer who has a solid foundation in manual testing, that extends into being a skilled and competent automation tester, with a proven breadth and depth of experience, to join our growing team to ensure the quality and reliability of the projects we deliver to our clients.

You will bring in excess of 3 years of experience in manual testing and in excess of 3 years in test automation

You will be responsible for creating and executing manual and automated testing of Microsoft Dynamics & Power Platform solutions within our projects. You will be involved in the maintenance and evolution of our automation frameworks and test suites, applying best practice standards to all you do. Automation could be at any application or integration layer and your skills need to be adaptable to select the most appropriate and efficient way to test.

We have seen an increase in the number of solutions and projects with an AI capability, so you must have some knowledge and exposure to the capabilities of AI, how it can be used to benefit testing and automated testing as well as how to carry out testing of AI solutions and the ability to integrate that into an automation capability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute automated testing of Microsoft Dynamics & Power Platform solutions to identify and document defects

  • Carry out manual test case creation and execution

  • Conduct manual and automated API testing to ensure seamless integration and functionality

  • Manual and automated accessibility testing

  • Collaborate with team members to understand requirements and design test cases

  • Report and track defects, and work with the development team to resolve issues

  • Participate in test planning, estimation, and risk analysis activities

  • Maintenance and continuous improvement of our test automation frameworks, strategies, processes and methodologies

  • Predominantly work remotely with the willingness and capability to attend meetings & workshops as required, which may be at Kerv offices or client sites

    Required Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in manual testing

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in automated testing at all levels, across a range of technologies and applications being tested

  • ISTQB Certification (Foundation or Advanced)

  • Manual and automated testing experience of Microsoft Dynamics and Power Platform solutions

  • Familiar with test and bug management tools and processes, ideally Azure Dev Ops (ADO)

  • Hands-on experience with API testing

  • Experience with test automation frameworks design, implementation and maintenance

  • Familiarity with Scrum methodology and how testing and test automation activities fit in

  • Must have worked on Behavioural Driven Development (BDD) or Test-Driven Development (TDD) or Acceptance Test-Driven Development (ATDD) methodology

  • Ability to develop automated functional tests, which exercise the UI, API and DB layers.

  • Highly delivery focused

  • Experience working in UK public sector projects, carrying out testing activities required of the role

    Technology & Knowledge Capabilities:

    Candidates are expected to have practical experience of using all of the following;

    • Playwright

    • JavaScript / TypeScript

    • Postman / REST Client / Axios

    • Cucumber

    • Accessibility Automation using Axe or similar

    • Azure DevOps pipeline – CI / CD

    • GitHub Actions / GitHub commands

    • YAML Scripting - Defining Pipelines

    • PowerShell Script - Deployment Tasks

    • Azure Key Vault

    • Microsoft Dynamics Applications & Portal Pages

    • Power Apps (Canvas & Model Driven Apps)

    • Strong understanding of software testing principles and methodologies

    • Strong understanding and practical application of principles of test automation and automation

    • strategies and approaches

    • Proficiency in writing and executing manual test cases and test scripts

    • Test planning and estimation in a SCRUM methodology

    • Strong communication and collaboration abilities

    • Attention to detail and a commitment to quality

    • Analytical and proactive in their approach to testing and problem solving

    • Capable of engaging at all levels with customers
