Our client is looking for Street Cleaners to work in Leyton. As a Street Sweeper you will be required to be physically fit as you are lifting and sweeping all day, you can be walking up to 5 miles a day, also you should consider you will be working outdoors in all weathers.

Typical tasks include:

  • Manual sweeping of streets and other areas (which can include footways, alleys, subways, under and around street furniture etc)

  • Empty litters bins found within your beat, ensure that the liners are replaced properly, and collect sweepers bags from agreed to pick up points

  • Utilise onboard technology in real time to record task confirmation and crew-related issues

  • Report locations of any graffiti, fly posting or damage/missing litter bins and waste containers to your Foreman/Manager

  • Check your equipment to ensure it is in good condition and exchange damaged or worn-out items.

  • Maintain a courteous and professional relationship with members of the public, clients, staff and colleagues

  • Dead animal collection and disposal.

  • Animal fouling removal.

  • Litter picking.

  • Bin emptying – these are public litter bins.

  • Any other ad hoc duties as requested.

    Shift

    Monday to Friday, 0500am - 1330pm/finish, or 0600am - 1430pm/finish 40hrs a week. Occasionally there can be afternoon shifts available also

    Some weekend shifts may be required.

    Salary start : £12.21,after 12 weeks pay increases to £13.85
