Job Title: Software Tester (with a Bit of a Developer Inside)
Location: Cheltenham (Hybrid – 2–3 days in the office)
Type: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: Competitive, depending on experience

Here’s the Deal

We’re looking for a Software Tester who’s great at spotting issues, loves making things work better, and has a growing interest in coding.

You’ll be testing web applications, building automated tests, and generally helping us ship solid, reliable software. But if you’ve also dabbled in JavaScript or TypeScript — or want to — there’s plenty of room to get more involved in coding and automation.

This is a testing-first role (about 65%), but we’re keen to support someone who wants to level up their programming skills over time. We’re not expecting a full-blown developer — just a bit of curiosity and the willingness to learn.

You’ll be part of a supportive, relaxed team that works mostly from home, but meets up in our Cheltenham office 2 or 3 days a week, so we’re looking for someone who lives within around 45 minutes.

What You'll Be Doing

Writing and running automated tests (e.g. Cypress, Playwright, or similar).

*

Doing some manual testing for new features or complex areas.

*

Working with developers to figure out what needs testing and how to catch bugs early.

*

Writing basic test scripts or tooling in JavaScript or TypeScript — and building on that as you go.

*

Helping us make our test processes smarter, smoother, and faster.

What We're Looking For

*

Experience with automated testing and a good eye for detail.

*

Some basic programming knowledge (JavaScript or TypeScript is ideal), or a genuine interest in learning.

*

A collaborative mindset — someone who enjoys working with others to get things done.

*

Proactive, curious, and happy to ask questions or suggest improvements.

*

Able to come into the Cheltenham office 2–3 days a week.

Bonus Points For

*

Testing web apps or APIs (and using tools like Postman).

*

Git, CI/CD, or Agile experience.

*

Interest in growing into a more technical or development-heavy role.

What You’ll Get

*

The chance to grow your coding skills in a real-world environment.

*

A hybrid setup with plenty of flexibility and no micro-managing.

*

Supportive teammates who are open, easy to talk to, and happy to share knowledge.

*

Interesting projects and a say in how we build and test things.

*

A competitive salary, plus the usual benefits.

Interested?

Cloud computing is no longer just an IT function—it's the backbone of digital transformation across every sector. You’ll learn how to tap into membership directories, join special-interest groups, attend CPD events, and use insider networks to get ahead in your job search—before roles hit the job boards.

How to Get a Better Cloud Computing Job After a Lay-Off or Redundancy

Lay-offs in the cloud computing sector have hit many professionals hard in recent years, often as part of broader tech cutbacks or cloud migration slowdowns. But the truth is: cloud skills remain in high demand. From AWS and Azure to Google Cloud Platform (GCP), UK employers across fintech, healthcare, government, defence, and retail are still hiring cloud engineers, DevOps professionals, solutions architects, and platform specialists. Redundancy doesn’t mean you're off-track—it can be the launchpad for your next, better role. This guide will walk you through the essential steps to bounce back, rebuild confidence, and secure a cloud computing role that aligns with your skills and goals.

Cloud Computing Jobs Salary Calculator 2025: Discover Your True Worth in the UK Cloud Market

Why last year’s pay survey is already obsolete in cloud computing “Am I being paid what I’m worth?” Ask any Cloud Engineer staring at spiralling AWS invoices, a Site Reliability Engineer on call at 3 a.m., or a Cloud Architect stitching together hybrid Kubernetes clusters, & you’ll hear the same anxiety. The cloud ecosystem reshapes itself every quarter: hyperscaler price cuts, brand‑new GPU instance families for generative AI, & sudden security advisories that send CISOs scrambling. In such a volatile landscape, a 2024 salary pdf is about as useful as last year’s cost‑optimisation dashboard—it under‑reports reality from the moment it’s printed. To give UK professionals an up‑to‑date benchmark, CloudComputingJobs.co.uk distilled a transparent, three‑factor formula that estimates a realistic 2025 salary in under a minute. Feed in your role, your region, & your seniority; the result offers a defensible figure for negotiations, job applications, or annual reviews. This article walks through the calculation, unpacks the strongest forces pushing cloud salaries upward, & outlines five concrete steps to boost your market value within ninety days.
