Adecco are pleased to recruiting for a Server and Storage Engineer to join the team within the North Yorkshire Police Force.

Location: Police HQ, Northallerton - with travel required across North Yorkshire.

Salary: £41,907 - 45,147 plus generous government pension and other benefits

Contract: Full time | Permanent

Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday - Thursday 8.30am - 5pm and Friday 8.30am - 4.30pm

Due to police vetting criteria, candidates must have resided in the UK continuously for at least 5 years at the time of application.

We're looking for a motivated and technically skilled ICT Server and Storage Engineer to join our dynamic Infrastructure Team. Based in Northallerton, you'll play a vital role in supporting the digital infrastructure that underpins the essential services of the Office of the Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner (OPFCC), North Yorkshire Police (NYP), and North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service (NYFRS).

Key responsibilities:

Delivering high-quality server, storage and cloud platform implementations and support to end users, key stakeholders and project delivery teams, across the organisations.

Build, configure, and maintain ICT hardware and virtual hardware to meet operational needs.

Respond to service desk calls and requests with professionalism and efficiency.

Support the delivery of ICT services in line with performance targets and service catalogue commitments.

Contribute to project work and commissioned tasks, including occasional fieldwork and out-of-hours support.

Collaborate with colleagues across ICT to ensure a seamless, "one service" experience for users.

Promote knowledge sharing and continuous improvement within the team.

Requirements:

To be successful in the role you will:

Provide expert support for server, storage, cloud and client technologies, ensuring systems are secure, high-performing, and resilient.

Help shape the infrastructure strategy and roadmap, aligning technology with operational priorities.

Identify opportunities to enhance technological capabilities and develop new solutions to improve efficiency.

Work closely with internal teams, suppliers, and partners to meet current and future business needs.

Support new deployments, upgrades, and system enhancements in a medium to large enterprise environment.

Collaborate with third-party providers to review, manage, and maintain ICT products and services.

Promote a culture of collaboration, providing technical guidance and training to colleagues.

Confident communication skills and the ability to build strong working relationships across all levels.

Experience working in or with public sector organisations, ideally within emergency services.

A clean driving licence and flexibility to travel when required.

Desirable Qualifications / Experience

Experience with enterprise-class server/client architecture, preferably within emergency services or the public sector.

Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to create effective solutions in a fast-paced ICT environment.

Proven track record of working on implementation projects and supporting complex IT infrastructures.

Expertise in VMWare environments, Windows, Linux, Exchange 365, Azure, Intune, VEEAM, Virtual Desktops.

Knowledge of Cloud Computing, Microsoft SCCM, virtual networks, and Thin/Thick Client technologies.

ITIL Foundation certification or equivalent experience in a regulated ICT environment.

Degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
