Overview:

We are working on behalf of a bespoke software consultancy supporting a UK financial services organisation on the development of new, greenfield front-office systems. As part of this programme, they are looking to engage an experienced Senior Software Tester to support both automated and manual testing across complex, business-critical applications.

This is a hands-on contract role suited to someone who enjoys working in delivery-focused teams and thrives in technically complex environments.

Role & Responsibilities:

Perform end-to-end manual and automated testing across new front-office platforms
Design, build, and maintain automated test frameworks and scripts
Execute API and UI testing to ensure system reliability and performance
Collaborate closely with developers, BAs, and product teams to identify defects early
Contribute to test strategy, planning, and continuous improvement of QA practices
Work within Azure DevOps to manage test cases, defects, and delivery workflows 

Essential Skills & Requirements:

Proven experience testing complex software systems in delivery environments
Strong hands-on experience with Playwright and/or Selenium
Development experience using C# or TypeScript
Solid background in API and UI testing
Experience working with Azure DevOps
Naturally curious with a strong testing mindset and attention to detail
Comfortable managing complexity and working across multiple system componentsNice to Haves

Life insurance domain knowledge
Broader insurance experience (e.g. motor, health, home, etc.) 
Contract Details:

Role: Senior Software Tester
Duration: 6 months initially
Rate: £450 – £575 per day
Start Date: Feb 2026
