Senior Windows Systems Administrator – (with Linux Knowledge) | £60,000 – £70,000 + Bonus | Hybrid – Cambridge

Are you a seasoned Windows Systems Administrator with a passion for infrastructure, automation, and cross-platform environments? We’re working with a top-tier client who is looking for a Senior Windows Sys Admin with solid Linux exposure to join their high-performing infrastructure team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on large-scale enterprise systems and contribute to strategic technical decisions.

The Role:
As a Senior Systems Administrator, you’ll be responsible for maintaining and enhancing a complex Windows server environment while collaborating on projects involving Linux systems. You’ll be a key player in ensuring infrastructure stability, performance, and scalability across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities:

Manage and maintain Windows Server environments (2016/2019/2022)
Support Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS/DHCP, and Exchange/O365
Assist with Linux server administration (RedHat/CentOS/Ubuntu)
Implement infrastructure automation (PowerShell, Bash, Ansible, or similar)
Troubleshoot system issues and provide 3rd line support
Contribute to infrastructure projects: migrations, upgrades, and security hardening
Work closely with networking, cloud, and DevOps teamsRequirements:

5+ years' experience in a Windows Systems Administrator or similar role
Strong PowerShell scripting and automation skills
Working knowledge of Linux systems (enough to troubleshoot, script, and support basic admin tasks)
Experience with virtualization platforms (VMware/Hyper-V)
Familiarity with monitoring tools and patch management solutions
Solid understanding of networking principles (TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls)
Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS/Azure) is a bonus
