Location: Kings Hill/Hybrid

Salary/package: £55,000 per annum

Contract type: Permanent

Hours: Full time, 37 hours per week

We’re looking for a skilled Senior Developer to join our team at Commercial Services Group. This is an exciting opportunity to work across desktop, web, and mobile applications, delivering innovative solutions that meet the evolving needs of our customers while mentoring the next generation of developers.

The Senior Developer role is central to the creation, improvement, and maintenance of applications that support CSG’s strategic objectives. By developing robust, secure, and scalable software, you’ll help streamline operations, improve customer experiences, and support the growth of our services. Your technical expertise and leadership will also help shape best practices and mentor less experienced team members.

What you’ll be doing

Gather customer requirements and translate them into functional designs and software solutions

Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain applications, web services, APIs, and integrations

Utilise development tools and frameworks such as PowerBuilder .NET, C#, ASP.NET, Angular, SQL Server, and MS Power Suite

Create and maintain technical documentation, specifications, and test plans

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver features on time and within budget

Write clean, scalable, secure, and efficient code aligned with CSG’s development and security standards

Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to colleagues

Mentor junior developers and share knowledge across the team

Troubleshoot, debug, and optimise existing software for performance and reliability
What we’re looking for

Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)

Minimum 3 years’ experience in systems development within a similar role

Proficiency in .NET languages (e.g., C#), ASP.NET, SQL Server, and MVC frameworks

Experience with RESTful APIs, web services, and front-end frameworks (preferably Angular)

Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and tools such as Azure DevOps

Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Ability to mentor and collaborate effectively with team members

Willingness to learn legacy technologies (PowerBuilder .NET) and support migration projects
