QA Test Engineer (Manual & Automation) | Hybrid | £40k–£50k DOE | SaaS | Huddersfield
 
A well-established SaaS company based in Huddersfield is looking for a hands-on Test Engineer to join its growing delivery team.
 
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a tech-first business with a long track record of success, where you’ll help elevate testing standards and play a key role in their shift towards increased test automation.
 
The Opportunity
 
This role is ideal for a Test Engineer who loves combining detailed manual testing with smart automation. You’ll work closely with developers and product owners as part of a collaborative squad, taking responsibility for validating product quality and ensuring test coverage across new and existing features.
 
The company is targeting 80% automation over the next 18 months, making this a great chance to influence tooling, frameworks, and best practice within their testing function.
 
Key Responsibilities

Plan, execute, and maintain manual test cases
Develop and expand automated test suites using Playwright and SpecFlow (C# BDD)
Use Gherkin syntax to write clear and effective test scenarios
Carry out integration, regression, UAT, and performance testing
Embed automated testing into CI/CD pipelines via Azure DevOps
Validate large datasets and ensure data integrity
Log and manage defects, working closely with dev teams to resolve issues 
About You

Solid experience in manual web application testing
Practical automation experience with Playwright
Skilled in writing BDD-style tests using Gherkin
Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to problem solving
Clear communicator who thrives in cross-functional teams
Experience with API testing, database verification, or performance testing is a plus
