Job Title: Technical Architect (SC Clearance Required)
Location: Hybrid (Occasional travel to London when required)
Day Rate: £700-£800 per day (Inside IR35)
Duration: Until September 2025 (extensions likely)
 
Position Summary:
We are looking for an experienced Technical Architect to support our client’s portfolio of in-flight programmes. This role requires a deep understanding of technical, security, and solution architecture design and assurance, focusing primarily on one specific programme while providing support to the wider portfolio as needed.
 
Key Competencies:

  • Extensive Subject Matter Expertise (SME) in virtualization platforms, particularly Azure Stack HCI.
  • Proficiency in both Windows server and Linux-kernel based operating systems.
  • Experience in operating system and application deployment.
  • Knowledge of network switching, routing, and firewall configurations.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure and application management tools such as Microsoft Configuration Manager and PowerShell.
  • Understanding of application architecture and architectural integration patterns.
  • Experience in integrating operational technologies, including cameras and detection equipment.
  • Awareness of Law Enforcement technologies and major systems, particularly compatibility with ANSI/IEEE N42.42 file types.
     
    Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead stakeholder relationship management with Authority third-party suppliers.
  • Provide high-level descriptions and solution overviews for Service Readiness reviews.
  • Collaborate with the Authority to define functional and non-functional requirements for architectural solutions.
  • Ensure testing activities are accurately represented through assurance processes, including test case content accuracy and testing closure reporting.
  • Review technical and service documentation, including High-Level Designs (HLD), Low-Level Designs (LLD), and technical notes.
  • Produce and/or update technical documentation in partnership with the Authority.
  • Adhere to established technical governance processes such as the PPPT Technical Design Authority (TDA).
  • Collaborate with third-party support providers to produce HLD for various systems, including SCOM, MSSQL, Containers, and Virtual Machines.
  • Evaluate existing business processes and work on compliant technical designs aligned with DDaT strategy and standards.
  • Provide design and architectural input to wider I&HSGIT projects when necessary.
  • Assist in reviewing service-related incidents in production environments.
  • Support the Authority and their suppliers in IT Health Check (ITHC) processes, including documentation for the Target of Evaluation and remediation actions.
     
    Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Technical Architect or similar role.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
