Job Description

We have a great opportunity for a highly motivated individual to join our team. We currently have an outstanding Data Science department, who produce significant results across the business. We are now seeking a Junior Data Scientist to become part of this successful team.

The successful individual will be highly ambitious, motivated, and eager to upskill while learning from the wider team. As a Junior member of the team, you will be supported as you lead all aspects of end to end projects from ideation through to production deployment, working on various models across Pricing, Fraud and Claims.

What you'll do:

Collaborate with business partners to improve processes using new data and sophisticated ML techniques.
Manage projects from inception to deployment, including benefit assessment.
Collaborate with DevOps and Data Engineers to deploy ML models on AWS.
Develop Python code adhering to standard processes, CI/CD, and test coverage.

Qualifications

We’d love you to bring:

You are a self-starter with experience in delivering research + models to production to drive tangible commercial benefits and improved customer experiences.
You thrive in working autonomously to drive impact in a fast-paced cross-functional business.
PhD or MSc or equivalent a numerate subject: Machine Learning, Computer Science, Statistics, or similar
Demonstrable experience of applying, researching, and developing sophisticated statistical/ML methods to drive value in a commercial setting,
Ability to deliver projects on time, taking project briefs and refining them to strong results.
Exposure to Python data science stack
Knowledge and working experience of AGILE methodologies.
Proficient with SQL.
Familiarity with Databricks, Spark and geospatial data/modelling are a plus.Interview process: Subject to change 

  1. 15minute conversation with Talent Team 

  2. 30minute interview with hiring manager 

  3. You'll be given 1 week to complete a Data Science task; then present this task back in a 2 hour final stage interview consisting of 40mins of presenting, followed by a Q&A session and 1 hour of standard interview questions.
