Are you passionate about architecting robust integration solutions and guiding teams toward best practices? This is a key role for a highly skilled Integration Architect / Integration Lead to take ownership of a cloud-based integration strategy.

Multiple systems are currently integrated point-to-point. The objective is to transition to a cloud-first integration layer. You’ll lead this shift, ensuring integrations are resilient, reusable, and scalable while mentoring developers to embed best practices and enable collaboration.

This is an opportunity to lead, influence, and deliver - a mix of hands-on development and strategic enablement.

What you’ll be doing:
✅ Architect and drive integration solutions across multiple systems.
✅ Design and develop API-based and event-driven integrations, utilising Azure services.
✅ Oversee the implementation of RESTful APIs, messaging queues (Azure Service Bus), and data pipelines.
✅ Establish and enforce integration best practices, ensuring security, scalability, and maintainability.
✅ Provide technical leadership to development teams, guiding them towards a best-in-class integration framework.

What we’re looking for:
✔ Strong expertise in Azure integration services (API Management, Logic Apps, Functions, Service Bus, Event Grid).
✔ Experience with DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) for integration deployments.
✔ Knowledge of hybrid cloud and on-premises integration strategies.
✔ A solid technical background spanning infrastructure and applications.
✔ Analytical, problem-solving mindset with excellent communication skills.

This is a strategically important role that offers the chance to lead integration, strategy, and implementation. It will ideally suit someone who enjoys a role that blends architecture, development, and leadership.

UK universities have responded with a wave of cloud-first master’s degrees, research centres and AWS- or Azure-aligned certificate tracks. Whether you want to optimise GPU clusters, build server-less back-ends or design multi-cloud security policies, there’s a programme that fits. Below are the ten universities we see leading the charge for the 2025 intake, plus tips on turning an academic credential into a career in cloud.

Veterans in Cloud Computing: A Military‑to‑Civilian Pathway into Cloud Careers

Introduction The United Kingdom’s public‑cloud market will exceed £45 billion by 2026 (Gartner forecast), fuelled by government digital‑service mandates, fintech scale‑ups, and the MOD’s own Cloud Strategic Roadmap 2025. From hybrid defence networks to NHS electronic health records, almost every mission‑critical workload is moving to AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP). That explosive demand collides with a nationwide skills shortage—over 135,000 unfilled cloud roles in 2024, according to TechUK. Veterans already possess the security clearances, network know‑how, and operational discipline that cloud employers crave. This guide shows you how to translate your military experience into cloud‑native language, leverage Ministry of Defence (MoD) transition funding, and secure a rewarding second career (with salaries starting at £40k and rising above £100k for cleared DevSecOps leads).
