Contract Software Development Engineer in Test – Cloud and AI Services We’re seeking an experienced Test Engineer (contract role) to validate and assure the quality of cloud-native AI services and APIs.

This role will require 3 days onsite in Cambridge. 

This is an opportunity to join a pioneering and well-reasourced AI project from one of the leading Software business in the UK. We need engineers who want to solve new problems and push the boundaries of Test and QA. AI experience is a must and LLM testing knowledge will really set you apart. 

Responsibilities
Functional, performance, and security testing of services on Azure.
Design and implement automated test suites for APIs, components, and AI pipelines.
Automate evaluation of AI outputs (accuracy, safety, relevance).
Define and track service-level quality metrics.
Validate against AI safety/regulatory standards.
Support threat modelling and API security testing.Skills & Experience
12+ years in software testing/QA for cloud-native apps (.NET/Microsoft stack).
Strong automation framework design skills.
Proficiency with Azure DevOps, CI/CD, containers.
Solid knowledge of API, performance, and security testing (OWASP Top 10).
Familiarity with LLM evaluation, prompt engineering, RAG, hallucination detection.
Awareness of AI safety, bias detection, and compliance.🚀 Contract position – immediate start
