Here at Spalding, we have a team of around 540 colleagues. We produce coleslaw, potato salad, salad bar bulk products (2kg), pasta salads and couscous/grains for some of the biggest retailers in the UK including Morrisons, Co-op, Asda, Aldi, Sainsbury's, Nando's and Pizza Hut. Our Spalding site has a restaurant with hot food available to all our colleagues.
What you'll be doing:

Assisting the Hygiene Manager in the smooth running of the Hygiene Department, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of high standards of hygiene across the site to achieve output requirements in compliance with company/site/legislative standards of quality, quantity, cost, and timescale.Responsibilities:

Comply with the Company's Health & Safety Policy and always maintain basic Health & Safety requirements.
Pursue safe working practice and act if any machinery or your working environment becomes unsafe by reporting to your Team Leader/Supervisor/Manager
Comply with the Company Rules and ensure that discipline is always maintained.
Ensure that housekeeping is maintained and the company `Clean as you go' is always adhered to.
Look after any equipment you are working with, and report any problems whether electrical, mechanical or damage.
You are responsible for the quality of your own work
Food is manufactured in the safest and most hygienic way by ensuring that personal and equipment hygiene standards are always maintained
You are aware of the potential for foreign body contamination, by ensuring that all packaging, containers, lids, engineering activities etc. are properly handled and disposed of from the area.
Take action to control productions until any problems have been resolved, e.g., stopping production in the event of a glass breakage etc.
Food is manufactured in the safest and most hygienic way by ensuring that personal and equipment hygiene standards are always maintained
High-light any necessary training needs
Have a proactive approach to learning other key jobs in your department
Report/Feedback to Management and Staff (This list is not exhaustive of other incidents that need reporting)What we're looking for:

Strong leadership/ Man Management skills Previous management skills in a comparable operation
Food Hygiene and chemical awareness experience Experience of managing to BRC/ISO standards
Computer skills in Excel, Word, and power point Ability to work under pressure and priorities workload efficiently
Good numeracy and literacy skills are essential along with the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written Understanding of Hygiene cleaning methods in food manufacturing environments and ability to look for ways to improve working practices and proceduresWe invite qualified candidates who are passionate about maintaining high standards of hygiene to apply for this vital role within our organization.
