We are delighted to be working in partnership with one of the UK’s leading retail businesses, home to well known high-street brands and employing over 6,000 people, across a growing estate of over 240 stores. This is a unique chance to shape the future of a new digital platform. They are currently looking for a React Developer to join their expanding team on a 12-month FTC basis. As a mid-level Full Stack React Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining a suite of applications that power ordering, payments, and loyalty across web and mobile platforms.
This is a hands-on role, ideal for an experienced engineer who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about creating seamless customer experiences through technology. You will work to design, develop and maintain scalable web and mobile applications, whilst collaborating with Product and UX design to deliver end-to-end solutions. This will include participation in technical planning, code reviews, architecture discussions and following CI/CD best practices in coding and testing.
The technical stack includes:
Languages & Frameworks:

  • JavaScript / TypeScript
  • React (web apps)
  • React Native (mobile apps) with Expo
  • Node.js
    Backend & Cloud:
  • AWS (Lambda, DynamoDB, ECS, S3, API Gateway)
  • Azure AD (authentication and identity management)
  • Google Cloud Platform & Firebase (used selectively for mobile features)
  • GitHub / GitHub Actions for CI/CD
Strong hands-on web application development using React is essential, as well as JavaScript and Typescript across both backend and frontend. Ideally, you will have experience of working with AWS, cloud native development and Infrastructure-as-code. Experience of React Native would be advantageous, but not essential as they are willing to train on this.
This is a highly rewarding opportunity to join a well-known and friendly organisation, with a people-first culture and realistic career development opportunities. You will benefit from complimentary breakfasts, as well as generous staff discounts, flexible working arrangements and a host of other benefits

How Many Cloud Computing Tools Do You Need to Know to Get a Cloud Job?

If you are aiming for a role in cloud computing, it can feel like the skills list never ends. One job advert asks for AWS, Terraform and Kubernetes. Another mentions Azure DevOps, PowerShell and ARM templates. A third throws in Docker, Python, Linux, CI/CD, monitoring tools and security frameworks. It is no surprise that many cloud job seekers feel overwhelmed before they even apply. Here is the reality most cloud hiring managers agree on: they are not hiring you because you know every cloud tool. They are hiring you because you understand cloud concepts, can design reliable systems, manage costs, keep things secure and support real workloads. Tools matter, but only when they support outcomes. So how many cloud computing tools do you actually need to know to get a job? For most roles, the answer is far fewer than you think. This article explains what employers really expect, which tools are essential, which are role-specific, and how to focus your learning so you look capable and employable rather than scattered.
