This is one of a few brand new roles with an exciting and genuinely unique technology start-up company in Cheltenham. They are looking secure a Senior/Lead Software Engineer to take ownership of the development of the in-house operating system (apps, tools, dashboards, communications pipelines etc).
The company develop telecommunications and monitoring devices for harsh environments across the globe.
The role involves predominantly greenfield development with very little (if any!) supervision so it's vital that you're able to work independently, problem solve and take complete ownership of the software development projects.
ROLE: Full-stack Software Engineer
LOCATION: Cheltenham (with flexibility)
SALARY: ~ £80,000
Essential skills for the full-stack Software Engineer are:

  • Python & JavaScript expertise
  • Fluency in either Java / Go / Rust / Elixir
  • Knowledge of data privacy and secure data storage
  • GIS workflows and DevOps
  • Some exposure to secure communications, telecoms, satellite comms, geospatial data structures
  • Building SW projects from scratch with experience across full development lifeycle
    Due to the start-up / idea sharing nature of the company, you'll be required on-site predominantly for this role. However, some remote working can be offered for days of coding etc.
