The B1/B2 Forklift Truck Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient movement, stacking, loading, and unloading of heavy goods using a counterbalance forklift truck (rated below or above 5 tonnes). This role plays a key part in supporting warehouse operations and supply chain efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

Forklift Operation: Operate a B1 or B2-class counterbalance forklift truck to load/unload goods from vehicles and move them to designated storage or dispatch areas.
Heavy Load Handling: Safely move large and heavy pallets, containers, or industrial goods .
Storage & Retrieval: Stack and retrieve goods in warehouse racking, ensuring efficient use of space and correct stock rotation.
Vehicle Loading: Load and secure goods for transport according to safety regulations and load specifications.
Inspection & Maintenance: Perform daily equipment checks and report any faults or safety concerns to the supervisor.
Health & Safety Compliance: Follow all site safety protocols, including proper use of PPE and adherence to risk assessments.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with warehouse staff, transport teams, and supervisors to ensure timely order fulfilment and smooth workflow.

Skills and Qualifications:

Essential:

Valid FLT license (RTITB, ITSSAR, or equivalent).
Experience operating counterbalance FLTs.
Good understanding of health and safety practices in a warehouse or industrial setting.
Physically fit and able to lift/move materials manually if needed.
Ability to follow instructions and communicate effectively with the team.
Full UK driving licence.Desirable:

Experience in a busy warehouse, distribution centre, or industrial environment.
Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) or handheld scanners.
Basic numeracy and literacy skills for record-keeping and documentation.

Working Conditions:

Indoor/outdoor work depending on the facility (may include cold or hot environments).
Shift-based work for 12 hour shifts.
Occasional overtime may be required during peak periods.S93
