Key Responsibilities
A66D OR EQUIVELANT


Crane Operation:<br /> * <br /> Operate electric overhead cranes via pendant controls, radio remote, or cabin.<br /> * <br /> Lift/transport loads (e.g., steel coils, machinery, containers) with precision.<br />


Safety Compliance:<br /> * <br /> Conduct pre-operational checks (brakes, hooks, wires, limit switches).<br /> * <br /> Follow LOLER 1998 (Lifting Operations Regulations) and PUWER 1998 (Equipment Safety).<br /> * <br /> Adhere to site-specific rules (e.g., exclusion zones, wind speed limits).<br />


Load Management:<br /> * <br /> Verify load weights and ensure they fall within crane capacity.<br /> * <br /> Secure loads using slings/chains under slinger/signaller guidance.<br />


Communication:<br /> * <br /> Coordinate with slingers/signallers using BS 7121 hand signals or radios.<br /> * <br /> Report equipment defects or safety hazards to supervisors immediately.<br />


Documentation:<br /> * <br /> Log lift details, safety checks, and incidents.<br /> * <br /> Complete daily inspection reports.<br />


Maintenance Support:<br /> * <br /> Assist engineers with basic maintenance (lubrication, minor repairs)
