A Once-in-a-Lifetime Opportunity

BroadbandUK is on a mission to help people across the UK find fast, reliable broadband — simply and transparently. We’ve already launched the UK’s first address-level price comparison service, built a speed test used by over 1 million people, and partnered with brands like Currys, Openreach, and The Telegraph.

But we’re just getting started.

We’re a high-growth, revenue-generating startup entering an exciting new phase. We’re looking for a Co-founder / CTO to join our founding team and help shape the future of connectivity in the UK.

This is a rare opportunity to help build a company from the ground up and become a key figure in creating a product that touches the lives of millions.

Why BroadbandUK?

Broadband is no longer a luxury — it’s the backbone of how we work, learn, connect, and entertain ourselves. Whether it’s streaming 4K video, remote working, or staying in touch with family overseas, the internet is central to everyday life.

Yet for many, navigating the broadband market is frustrating and unclear.

BroadbandUK is changing that — with transparent tools, data-driven insights, and technology that empowers consumers to make better choices.

We’ve already made waves with:

The UK’s first address-level broadband price comparison

A broadband speed test featured by BBC iPlayer and used by 1M+ users

*

White label platforms for The Telegraph and partnerships with household brands

We’re now scaling toward household-name status — and we need a CTO who’s ready to lead us there.

Your Role as Co-founder / CTO

As CTO and co-founder, you’ll play a critical role in shaping the future of BroadbandUK. You’ll work directly with the CEO and co-founders to:

*

Lead the development and implementation of our technology roadmap

*

Oversee architecture, development, and infrastructure for our web platform and future mobile apps

*

Ensure our systems are scalable, secure, and reliable as we grow from 1M to many more users

*

Identify and integrate emerging technologies to enhance our offering and user experience

*

Build, lead, and inspire a world-class engineering team

Our Stack

*

Backend: PHP (Laravel)

*

Frontend: React, Next.js (preferred), with flexibility for modern frameworks

*

Infrastructure: AWS (including Lambda), Digital Ocean

*

Tools: GitHub, CI/CD pipelines, Docker

*

Data: MySQL, Redis

What We’re Looking For

*

5+ years of experience in software development and technology leadership

*

Strong background in web-based platforms; mobile app experience is a plus

*

Experience building products at scale, ideally in high-growth or startup environments

*

Expertise in cloud infrastructure and DevOps (AWS preferred)

*

A deep understanding of data security, privacy, and UK compliance (e.g. GDPR)

*

Passion for using technology to solve real-world problems for millions of users

*

Excellent communication and collaboration skills

*

A true builder’s mindset — hands-on, visionary, and ready to lead from the front

Bonus Points

*

Experience in consumer-facing platforms, price comparison tools, or broadband/telecoms

*

Familiarity with GraphQL, custom CMS development, or high-performance data platforms

The Setup

*

Hybrid working – balance time between our London base (E14 5RE) and remote work

*

Founding team equity – join us not just as an employee, but as an owner

*

A mission that matters – help shape how the UK connects, learns, and thrives
