We are looking to recruit a Cloud Architect for a leading technology consultancy that specialises in delivering enterprise-level solutions across cloud platforms and IBM applications.

This is a home based role with travel to my client's head office in the Midlands for team meetings (approximately 1 - 2 days a month).

The Role:

This is a hands-on role that blends strategic architecture with practical implementation. You will be designing and deploying secure, scalable solutions across Microsoft Azure, AWS, and IBM platforms, working with both public and private sector clients.

You will be instrumental in cloud design, integration, and infrastructure-ranging from business-as-usual operations support to leading on major projects such as cloud-based SaaS solutions. You will also provide technical mentoring to the operational team and support enterprise-level decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and deploy hybrid and cloud-native solutions on Azure and AWS, integrating with IBM applications.
Architect enterprise-level cloud solutions, ensuring high availability, security, and scalability.
Support cloud infrastructure delivery, including server provisioning, configuration, and performance tuning.
Guide operational teams in implementing fixes and mentoring staff to improve decision-making.
Lead architecture and integration design for large-scale deployments.
Act as a technical design authority on projects and bid responses.
Create technical documentation including HLDs, LLDs, and operational runbooks.
Support automation, containerisation (Docker/Kubernetes), and DevOps initiatives.
Engage with stakeholders, including C-level executives, to align technology with business goals.
Ensure compliance with security standards, such as ISO27001, Cyber Essentials+, and NIST CSF.What We're Looking For:

5+ years of experience in cloud architecture, with hands-on expertise in AWS and Azure.
Strong knowledge of enterprise-level applications and cloud integrations.
Experience in designing solutions for highly secure environments.
Proficiency with Linux (RHEL, Ubuntu), Bash, PowerShell, and Python scripting.
Familiarity with IBM applications, database technologies (DB2, MS SQL, Oracle, MongoDB), and OpenShift.
Strong understanding of security architecture principles (zero trust, IAM, encryption, patching).
Exposure to DevOps tools such as Terraform, Ansible, and CI/CD pipelines.
Ability to communicate effectively and mentor junior team members.Desirable Qualifications:

AWS or Azure certification (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect).
TOGAF, SABSA, or equivalent architecture certification.
Experience with containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes) and enterprise integration.
Previous experience working in public sector organisations
