New C / C++ Software Engineer - Linux Server job available in Cambridge, Cambridgeshire

  • Cambridge based office (hybrid working)

  • 25 days + bank holidays, flexible working pattern

  • C / C++ (17 or later), Linux Server development, PHP, JavaScript, HTML/CSS, Apache

  • Visa sponsorship available if required.

    A leading and expanding wireless communications business based in Cambridge, Cambridgeshire are seeking a senior level C / C++ Software Engineer to support the continuous development and maintenance of Linux server applications using PHP, JavaScript, HTML/CSS, and Apache. Optimising and customising Linux environments, leveraging the Yocto build system. You will play a key role in software coding for new R&D wireless products.

    Skills and experience required:

  • Good experience in Linux server development.

  • Strong programming skills in C and C++ (C++17 and later).

  • Experience with database design and implementation.

  • Knowledge of Linux customisation and networking protocols.

    Desirable Skills:

  • Experience with Asterisk and related protocols (SIP, RTP, RCTP, WebRTC).

  • SSL and certificate management.

  • Docker, embedded software development, and mobile app development (Android/iOS).

  • Familiarity with test-driven development, JIRA, and Git
