Role: AWS Solution Architect
Location: London (Office-based, 250 Bishopsgate area)
Type: 6-Month Contract
Day Rate: Up to £465/day (Inside IR35)

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced AWS Solution Architect to lead the design, development, and implementation of scalable and secure AWS-based infrastructure for a leading financial institution. The role involves modernising data platforms, enabling data products and marketplace models, and integrating advanced analytics and visualization tools.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement secure, scalable AWS cloud architectures aligned with banking standards.

  • Drive the migration of data platforms (DWH → AWS/Snowflake) and establish data product frameworks.

  • Develop ETL pipelines using AWS EMR for efficient data processing.

  • Integrate Tableau with AWS for seamless reporting and visualization.

  • Design and deploy containerized microservices applications on Amazon EKS.

  • Utilize Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Helm, and Jenkins for automation.

  • Implement and monitor DevOps pipelines, ensuring best practices for security and compliance.

  • Lead technical design reviews and mentor team members.

    Skills & Experience Required

  • Deep understanding of AWS services and architecture best practices.

  • Hands-on experience with Lambda, EKS, EMR, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Jenkins, Ansible.

  • Strong scripting ability in Python or Bash.

  • Background in ETL and data engineering on AWS.

  • Experience integrating Tableau with AWS services.

  • Avaloq or banking domain experience preferred.

  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.

  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional preferred.
