Job Title: AWS DevOps Engineer
Location: Hybrid Glasgow
Salary/Rate: Up to £350 Pay
Start Date: 13/05/25
Job Type: Contract

Job Description:

It's an DevOps engineering role, someone who bring new ideas and experience on the table to improve existing DevOps capabilities. Would prefer someone coming from development/engineering background, it's not operation/support role.

Mandatory Skills:

A firm understanding of DevOps / CI / CD in an enterprise context with proven experience on PaaS and Cloud deployment options.
A software/application engineering background that includes experience with DevOps tools and platforms such as OpenShift, AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, Gradle, Maven and their equivalents.
Infrastructure as Code experience, with CloudFormation, Terraform or equivalents
Strong communication, verbally and in writing, able to tailor messages appropriately to the audience.
Knowledge and experience of software development life cycle along ideally with Java or Go based development teams.
Passionate to improve developer experience by leveraging latest tools, technologies and industry trends in DevOps landscape.

Desirable Skills:

An automation mind-set.
Knowledge and experience of end-to-end infrastructure including networking, firewalls, load balancers, application servers etc.
An exposure to test automation, test driven development (TDD) and agile delivery practices.
Understanding of monitoring and observability tools such as AppDynamics, ELK, AWS CloudWatch, AWS XRay, etc.
Knowledge & experience with Cloud Contact Centre tools & technologies.
Roles & Responsibilities:

Collaborating with development and operations teams to identify and address bottlenecks in the software development lifecycle.
Designing and implementing automation tools and frameworks for continuous integration, delivery, and deployment.
Creation and adoption of pipelines across multiple internal and external cloud platforms
Collaborate with other DevOps functions in the Bank to share knowledge and assets
Ensure Pipelines are continually developed in line with platform changes, security requirements, application enhancements etc
Strive to embed consistency and reuse in our Devops estate and gain insight and understanding into the customer contact end to end services and solutions
Work with the wider technology teams across all services and directly support the wider contact centre services/teams and technologies
Continually improve your own skills and knowledge, keeping up to date with review emerging system engineering methods, tools and standards
