Our client, a leading organisation within the Defence & Security sector, is currently seeking an Automation Platform Specialist to join their team. This is a contract role and offers the opportunity to work 100% remotely during UK time, with occasional visits to the customer's office in London or Reading for workshops and whiteboard sessions. The project is expected to start around June 2025 and will last until the end of 2025, with a possibility of extension.

Key Responsibilities:

Delivering Network Automation using industry-recognised tools such as Cisco NSO, Itential Automation Platform (IAP), HashiCorp Vault, Ansible, and Juniper Apstra
Managing and deploying applications on OpenShift, Kubernetes, and Docker platforms
Utilising GitHub, JIRA, and related Agile/DevOps tools for effective project management
Working within Linux, networking, and cloud environments (vSphere, OpenStack, AWS, etc.)
Developing and maintaining scripts using languages such as YAML, JavaScript, Python, Bash, and Ansible
Interacting with customers in English to ensure clear and effective communication
Participating in preparatory and client interviews as necessary

Job Requirements:

Experience with Fixed Telecoms Network (FTN) and IT Network
Proficiency in Linux operating systems and networking
Strong knowledge of Python for automation and scripting
Experience in network automation tools and frameworks
Understanding of network firewalls, routers, and switches
Proven ability to work within Agile and DevOps environments
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English

Additional Information:

100% remote work during UK time, occasional visits to London/Reading
Project duration: until the end of 2025, with a possibility of extension
