DevSecOps Engineer (HashiCorp Vault) - Hedge Fund - 12-month Contract

Location: London

WFH: 3 days in the office per week

I'm partnered with a leading hedge fund looking to hire a DevSecOps Engineer, specialising in Secrets Management. This role will operate across a number of different teams and will offer the opportunity for extension far beyond, and potentially a permanent role.

Responsibilities:

  1. Own and operate the firm's HashiCorp Vault platform, ensuring high availability, scalability, and security across trading and corporate environments.
  2. Design and implement secrets management, credential rotation, PKI, and encryption workflows for applications, infrastructure, and cloud services.
  3. Integrate Vault into CI/CD pipelines and developer workflows, enabling secure automated authentication and secret injection across Kubernetes, cloud, and on-prem environments.
  4. Partner with Security, Infrastructure, and Engineering teams to define and enforce security controls, access policies, and privileged access management standards.
  5. Develop automation and Infrastructure-as-Code solutions using tools such as Terraform and Python to improve security, operational efficiency, and platform reliability.

Responsibilities:

  1. Strong hands-on experience administering and engineering HashiCorp Vault in a production environment, including authentication methods, secrets engines, policies, replication, and disaster recovery.
  2. Experience with Terraform and Infrastructure-as-Code practices, ideally within AWS, GCP, or hybrid cloud environments.
  3. Solid scripting or development skills in Python, Go, or Bash, with a focus on automation and platform engineering.
  4. Deep understanding of security concepts including PKI, certificate management, encryption, IAM, privileged access management, and secrets management best practices.
  5. Experience working within a high-performance, highly regulated environment such as a hedge fund, trading firm, fintech, or large-scale technology organisation, supporting critical production systems.

Where to Advertise Cloud Computing Jobs in the UK (2026 Guide)

Where to advertise cloud computing jobs UK in 2026: the specialist boards and channels that reach AWS, Azure, GCP and cloud-native engineering talent. The candidate pool is large relative to other deep tech disciplines but highly segmented — cloud architects, DevOps engineers, platform engineers, FinOps specialists and cloud security professionals each occupy distinct communities with different job search behaviours, certification profiles and salary expectations. General job boards reach a broad audience but struggle to differentiate between these disciplines, producing high application volumes but low candidate quality for specialist cloud roles. This guide, published by CloudComputingJobs.co.uk, covers where to advertise cloud computing roles in the UK in 2026, how the main platforms compare, what employers should expect to pay, and what the data says about hiring across different role types.
